How we check listings and prices
Every listing carries the line “Verified listing”. This page explains what that means: what we look at before a listing goes online, what we reject, where the prices come from and what our check does not cover.
In short
- No listing appears by itself. Someone from our team looks at it and approves it.
- We check every later change again before it goes online.
- The starting price is given by the vendor. Our own guide prices are marked as such.
- We verify the details in the listing, not the quality of the work.

What we check in a listing
- 1
The business
Does it exist? We look at the commercial register, the website and the social media profiles.
- 2
Contact details
Are the address, phone number and email correct? We test them.
- 3
The offer
Do the photos, texts and prices match what the business really does?
- 4
Approval
Only then does the listing go online.
What a vendor has to provide
The form for a new listing asks for:
- name, description and canton
- an email address for enquiries
- a starting price in Swiss francs
- the location. The form suggests addresses from the Swiss federal address search, so that the spelling and the pin on the map are right.
- a main photo and further photos
- answers to the most frequently asked questions in the category
Photos and answers have been mandatory since October 2026, so older listings may still lack some of these details. Where a price or an answer is missing, nothing stands in its place.
What we reject
We do not approve a listing if
- we cannot find the business
- the address, phone number or email is wrong
- the photos, texts or prices do not match the offer
- the offer has nothing to do with weddings
Our terms say the same: a listing is only accepted once we have checked and activated it.
Changes
When a vendor changes a listing, we look at the change before it appears. Until then, the previous version stays online. Every listing shows when it was last updated.

Order and payment
No paid placement
All listings are currently free. There are no paid positions.
The “Recommended” order
Complete listings come first. What counts is a photo, a price, a detailed description, answered questions and the address. If two listings are level, the newer one is higher up.
Enquiries
They go straight to the vendor. We do not sell contacts, and couples pay nothing.
Where the prices come from
Three kinds of figures appear on Hochzeitsuche. We keep them apart:
- from CHF …
Starting price in the listing
Given by the vendor. It is their smallest offer, not the price for the whole day.
- Median
Statistics from the listings
The median and the range per category and canton, calculated from the starting prices. A figure only appears once there are three prices.
- Guide price
Guide prices from our editorial team
The guides give ranges for complete services, for example a full-day photo reportage. They are marked as guide prices, and worked examples as calculated.
The method is explained in the price statistics (in German).
Reviews and comments
A review does not appear straight away. It waits for our approval. The same goes for comments under the guides. This is how we try to keep fake reviews and advertising out.

- Approved by us

How we check our guides
The German guides we have reviewed show the date of the last check at the top. Where they state the law, deadlines or official fees, they name their sources there as well: ch.ch, the Federal Office of Justice, the legal texts on fedlex.admin.ch and the websites of cantons and cities.

About the translations
Vendor profiles are translated from German. We check the German version. If a translation is not yet up to date, the German listing is the one that counts.
What “verified” does not mean
- We have not tested the service. What we verify are the details in the listing.
- Prices can change. The vendor’s quote is what counts.
- So get quotes, ask for references and read the contract before you book.
