General information on data processing

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously and comply with the applicable data protection provisions of Switzerland and — where applicable — the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this privacy policy we inform you about what data we collect, how we use it and what rights you have.

Collection and processing of personal data

3.1 Visiting the website

  • Server log files: When you visit our website, information is recorded automatically, such as your IP address, the date and time of access, and the browser type and operating system used. This data is used primarily for the technical provision and security of our website.
  • Cookies: Our website uses cookies to enable certain functions and to improve the user experience. These may be session cookies or persistent cookies. We set technically necessary cookies for signing in to your account; we also use Google Analytics and may use tracking pixels and similar technologies (see section 4).

3.2 Contact forms and forwarding to vendors

If you enter data (e.g. name, email address, phone number) in a contact form, this data is stored and sent by email to the relevant vendor (advertiser). This is done on the basis of your consent or to initiate and perform a contract between you and the respective advertiser.

3.3 Creating listings

If you as an advertiser wish to publish a listing on our platform, we collect all the data required for publication (e.g. name, description, images, location, details of your services or venues). This data is stored and published on our website so that interested parties can contact you.

3.4 Newsletter

We offer you the option of subscribing to our newsletter. For this we need your email address. Registration for the newsletter is usually done via a double opt-in procedure (confirmation by email). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the newsletter or by sending us an email to info@hochzeitsuche.ch.

Tracking and analysis tools

We use various analysis tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center) as well as tracking pixels (e.g. for TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook). These tools help us to evaluate the use of our website and to optimise advertising measures. In the process, data (e.g. IP address, usage behaviour) may be transmitted to the respective providers and stored on servers outside Switzerland/the EU. Please note that these providers have their own data protection rules, over which we have no direct influence.

Social media plugins

Social media plugins (e.g. from Facebook, Instagram) may be integrated on our website. These make it possible to share content directly with your social media account. Please note that when such a plugin is activated or used, your data (e.g. IP address, visit to the website) may be transmitted to the respective provider.

Disclosure of your data to third parties

We only pass on your data to third parties if this is necessary to provide our services, if there is a legal obligation or if you have given your consent. Recipients may include in particular the following categories of service providers:

  • Payment service providers (e.g. Stripe, Twint)
  • Email marketing service providers (e.g. Omnisend, Brevo)
  • Web analytics service providers (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Merchant Center)
  • Accounting systems (e.g. Bexio)

Some of these service providers may be located outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area (EEA). We make sure that appropriate data protection measures (e.g. contractual agreements) are in place, but cannot guarantee compliance with data protection standards by third-party providers.

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or the corresponding provision under Swiss law) for data processing in contact forms, newsletter registration or tracking (if you give your consent).
  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or the corresponding provision under Swiss law) for the publication of listings and communication with vendors.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) for the statistical evaluation and security of our website.

Storage period

We generally store your personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or as long as statutory retention periods apply (e.g. to fulfil obligations under tax and commercial law). Listings and associated data remain stored until deletion is requested or there is no longer a legitimate interest in storing them.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or destruction. These include SSL encryption on our website and the use of Cloudflare services to improve performance and security.

Rights of data subjects

You have the right to request information about the personal data we process at any time and, where the legal requirements are met, to request the following:

  • Correction of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data
  • Deletion of your stored personal data
  • Restriction of processing
  • Objection to data processing on grounds relating to your particular situation
  • Data portability, provided that the processing is based on your consent or on a contract

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy if necessary in order to adapt it to changes in the law or technical developments. We will inform you of significant changes by email or on our website wherever possible.
