What does a wedding photographer cost in Switzerland?
The photographers on Hochzeitsuche quote starting prices from CHF 150 to CHF 6 600; the median is CHF 405. The starting price usually covers a short package, such as a civil ceremony with one to two hours of coverage. For a full day with getting ready, ceremony, apéro and party, Swiss couples typically budget CHF 2 500 to 5 000.
Editing and an online gallery are usually included. Extras that often cost more: a second photographer, a printed album, travel outside the region and photos on the day before the wedding.
What to look for when choosing
- Style: reportage (unobtrusive, real moments), classic (posed portraits) or fine art (light, soft, editorial). Look at a whole wedding in the portfolio, not just the best ten pictures.
- Delivery time: four to twelve weeks is usual. Ask when the first previews arrive.
- Second photographer: worthwhile from around 80 guests, so that the ceremony and the guests are covered at the same time.
- Backup: two memory cards per camera and a backup on the wedding night itself are standard for professionals.
- Chemistry: an introductory call or an engagement shoot shows whether you feel comfortable in front of the camera.
